FX Announces A Teacher Premiere Date, Fargo Gets a New Time Slot

If you’ve noticed that FX has been unusually quiet these past few months that’s all about to change. Ahead of a virtual press day for the network, FX announced the premiere date for its latest limited series, A Teacher, as well as what viewers can expect for its fall slate. And you better believe Fargo is on the menu.

The biggest news of the day has to do with Hannah Fidell’s A Teacher. Adapted from Fidell’s movie of the same name and directed, written, and executive produced by her, the 10-episode series revolves around Claire Wilson, a young teacher who starts a new job at a high school in suburban Texas. It isn’t long before she finds herself entangled in a complicated and very illegal affair with one of her students. The series stars Kate Mara and Nick Robinson as teacher and student, respectively.

Much like Devs and Mrs. America, A Teacher will be a FX on Hulu exclusive. The first three episodes of the half-hour drama will premiere on Tuesday, November 10. New episodes will then be released on Tuesdays.

But that’s far from the only series FX has up its sleeve for this fall. During the press day the network also cemented the release dates for Season 11 of Archer, the docuseries A Wilderness of Error, Season 4 of Fargo, and its newest limited series Black Narcissus.

There are all sorts of reasons to be excited about this slate. This upcoming season of Archer will be first to see Archer wake up from his coma, back to status quo. A Wilderness of Error is a chilling docuseries that questions if a man imprisoned for murdering his family was actually innocent. Black Narcissus will take one of the most influential yet little known bodies of work and bring it to television. But the real crown jewel of this new season is Fargo. After delaying the crime drama’s premiere date due to COVID-19 Noah Hawley’s warped anthology is finally coming to TV. And this time Chris Rock is leading its ranks.

Here’s when FX’s fall shows are set to air:

Archer Season 11 — The first two episodes will premiere back-to-back on FXX on Wednesday, September 16 at 10/9c p.m before premiering the next day on FX on Hulu. New episodes will air on FXX Wednesday nights before being added to Hulu the following day.

Fargo Season 4 — The first two episodes will premiere on FX back-to-back on Sunday, September 27 starting at 9/8c p.m instead of the previously reported 10/9c p.m. They will then be available on FX on Hulu the following day.
